Pramlintide
Synthetic human amylin analog API for adjunctive diabetes therapy. Gastric emptying delay, postprandial glucagon suppression, and satiety enhancement synergizing with insulin.
Pramlintide is a synthetic analog of human amylin, a 37-amino acid peptide hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic beta cells. It is the first and only FDA-approved amylin analog for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, administered as an adjunct to insulin therapy. Pramlintide slows gastric emptying, suppresses postprandial glucagon secretion, and enhances satiety, thereby improving glycemic control and reducing post-meal glucose excursions.
